When Jesus was at the cross, He said, “It is finished.” That means that Jesus was finishing ALL of our problems! But so many people will tell you, “Oh, Jesus wasn’t taking ALL of my problems at the cross. There are still problems we will go through until Jesus comes back again. Jesus was ONLY finishing the punishment for sin at the cross!“
The funny thing is, we would agree with that last sentence. Jesus was “MERELY” taking the punishment for sin at the cross. But what you don’t realize is: THAT IS, in fact, ALL the problems in this world! Every single problem that people have, is just the punishment on Adam’s sin… or Adam’s sin itself.
Everything was perfect before Adam brought sin and death into the world. Every single problem that a person can have today can be classified under either “sin“ or “death.“ There are NO other problems in this world.
Romans 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin…
Things like sickness, aging, fatigue, hurt, or any inability (including inability to get wealth -– whether we like that or not) would be classified under “death.” Things like addiction, bad habits, disorder, and incorrect emotions would be classified under “sin” (with a longer article, we could say more, but we already know from Rom. 5:12 that the only problems in the world are sin and death.)
So when you say that Jesus was “ONLY dying for sin,” you’re saying that Jesus was fixing EVERY single problem in this world. Because remember, there are no other problems with this present age except sin and death. And the only reason why people still see problems, is because it takes knowledge of these things for people to receive them.
