The Power Is Always Flowing (Article)

When a believer makes a mistake, hits a rough circumstance, isn’t feeling well, or finds themselves in a situation that they know is not God‘s will, many feel that their circumstance is void of the power of God. They feel like currently, the power of God just isn’t flowing. This is completely untrue.

We have this “all or nothing“ mentality when it comes to the power of God. If we’re seeing a miracle, we feel like the power of God is fully flowing, but if we make a mistake, aren’t feeling well, etc. we may think that the power of God just isn’t flowing. And we will use our problem as evidence of this. But the power of God is always flowing in the life of a believer. Always.

We are saved by faith (that is, knowledge of Jesus). And if you are saved, you have the knowledge of Jesus to some degree, otherwise you wouldn’t be saved. And so, the power of God is always flowing in your life. Never, for a single moment, is the power of God not flowing through you.

2 Peter 1:2 (KJV) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord…

It’s true that if we knew Jesus in full, then we would speak, act, and walk in the full power of God (1 John 3:2), but it’s not all or nothing. If you’re seeking the knowledge of Jesus, then the power of God is working all the time. If you make a mistake or hit a problem, you are doing so WITH the power of God flowing from within you, not that you are absent of it.

I have felt sick as a dog, and while lying on the couch have simultaneously prophesied over people. I have done some very stupid things and have seen people healed right amidst it. Sure, I wasn’t feeling well, and sure, I was doing the wrong thing because of my lack of knowledge, but I still had the power of God working in me because I still knew Jesus!

To whatever extent we believe what Jesus has done, the power of God is flowing. And for this reason, even when we make a mistake or hit a small problem (because all of them are small), God can work it out for good because His power never stopped. Sure, we may still lack knowledge, but because the power is still active, the Lord can work it for good in your life.

Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things [even mistakes] work together for good to them that love God [rather, believe Him], to them who are the called according to his purpose.

So, to put it plainly, if I may… don’t be a drama queen and think that all of a sudden you have no faith and the power of God isn’t working in your life at the moment. None of this is true. If you are a believer, God is with you and God is actively working through you, according to your faith in Him. But you say, “It doesn’t seem like it.“ And to you I would say, “Is God a liar? Because He said that if you behold Him, then you are being transformed. (2 Corinthians 3:18).” So, do you know Jesus? Yes? Then keep beholding Him because you are being transformed. And that’s a fact whether you detect it or not.
