Jesus provided everything for all of humanity in the past. He does not have to work anymore! It is finished! But because of His finished work in the past, we are made perfect and full in Him presently!
Colossians 2:10 (ASV) and in him ye are made full…
Jesus became sin already, so that we could possess every good, righteous, and moral quality of Himself. Jesus suffered and died, so that we could have every bit of power, health, and mortality that He has! Jesus’ past tense work, has made us perfect in the present! Perfection is not a future reality for you, but a present one!
Philippians 3:15 (KJV) Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded…
You are not a work in progress! You are presently, perfect in every way (read this article for more)! You are filled with every good thing that you see in God Himself, because of Jesus provided it all to you in the past! Jesus doesn’t have to provide you with anything further. His past work is good enough. It has made you exactly who you need to be in the present. Every good, pleasing, and perfect thing lives in you now (Romans 12:2). Of course, we want these things to manifest in our lives, but we already have them inside of us presently!
There’s no improvement that you need in the future, and there is no blessing that you need to wait for in heaven one day. In your spirit, you are perfect and just like Jesus (Hebrews 12:23)! You lack no good quality, no gifting, no talent, and no ability. You are identical to Jesus in the present, because of everything Jesus did for you in the past. God just wants you to see how much like Jesus you already are! Then it will manifest in the future!
