Many believers feel like they are on a need-to-know basis with God. God knows everything, and they are getting bits of information as He wills it. Anyone that thinks that, doesn’t realize that the entire mind of God has been gifted to us through Jesus!
Gone are the days of thinking that you’re not smarter than the next guy. Now, the foolish who come to Jesus are now wiser than all men (1 Corinthians 1:25). Not only did Jesus give you every bit of grace that He has, but He’s given you His brainiac mind to understand it all!
1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV) For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 John 2:20 (NKJV) But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
Now you may say, “I don’t know everything. Only God knows everything.” But the reason you say that, is because you’re only thinking about your physical mind. You’re only factoring in your human brain and not your born-again spirit. The Bible says that your born-again spirit (the unseen you, inside of your body) has been made perfect (Hebrews 12:23).
Inside of you, in your spirit right now, you have the full mind of Christ. So, it is wrong to think that you are on a “need to know basis” with God, or that God is ever withholding knowledge from you. Seriously, He gave you His entire mind, and we are quibbling over whether God wants to give us this piece of wisdom or that.
Inside of you there’s nothing you don’t know. As you begin to acknowledge this full mind of Christ inside of you, that mind begins leaking into your physical mind, and then flooding into your physical mind, and then raging into your physical mind. You then start thinking and feeling, what God thinks and feels.
You know, this is where prophecy comes from. Why should it be surprising that we can speak to one another about future events if we really believed that we had the mind of Christ? Of course we can! We can talk to one another about future events like the world talks about the weather.
Not only do you know all future events, but you have all of God’s memories as well. Some of us are over here distraught over the fact that we lost a family photo album or a memento of some kind, and yet, you have every single memory living inside of you. Even memories that you have not physically lived through, you have inside of you — and that with a correct, truthful perspective as well. All of this can manifest into your physical mind for you to see things past, present, or future.
Basically, there’s nothing you don’t know. There is no thought of God that you can’t access. Nothing is off the table. This is not a matter of whether God wills to share certain wisdom with you or not. It’s too late. He already shared the whole blooming thing with you (that’s a little manifestation joke for those who understand)!
God is not sharing His wisdom with you, a little here, a little there. You have the mind of Christ. Not part of it, but the whole of it, as a gift.
And lastly, for my theologian friends who will say that only the Father knows certain things, let’s read a verse you may be thinking of…
Mark 13:32 (NKJV) “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Now, as much as this verse is in the Bible, this is an Old Testament (pre-blood of Christ) verse. But not to worry, Jesus gave us an updated, New Testament version of “who can know what,” in the book of Acts.
In Acts 1, Jesus explained that although the Father was the only one who had the power to know certain things at the time, Jesus also said that He was about to send His Spirit. And when He sent His Spirit, we too would have the power to know the same things as God.
Acts 1:7-8 (KJV) And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…
Most people quote this power as referring to general miracle working power, or something of that nature. But Jesus actually said that only the Father had the “power” to know certain things. And once His Spirit came to us, we would also receive this power to know those deep things as well! Jesus is actually talking about receiving power to know the same things that God knows!
Before Jesus died, there was certain wisdom that only the Father could know, (Daniel 12:4), but because of the price Jesus paid, now there isn’t a shred of knowledge that God hasn’t shared with us by His Spirit (Revelation 22:10).
We definitely didn’t have any meaningful wisdom before Jesus, but never forget, now that we have His Spirit, we’re know-it-alls.
