Defintion:

Fool, unlearned

Scripture:

  • Proverbs says a dog is a fool.

Proverbs 26:11 (KJV) As a dog  returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

  • Job compares the son’s fathers to dogs. Then he says they are sons of fools.

Job 30:1 (NKJV) But now they mock at me, men younger than I, Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock. Verse 8 They were sons of fools, Yes, sons of vile men; They were scourged from the land.

  • According to Goliath, dogs need staves (the rod of a shepherd – see definition for Rod/Staff).

1 Samuel 17:43 (KJV) And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves [staffs]? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

  • Before His death and resurrection, Jesus refers to the Gentiles as dogs because they were unlearned. God had not brought the Gospel to the Gentiles yet.

Matthew 15:22 (KJV) And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him… Verse 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
