  • In Exodus 12, the Jews are redeemed from Egypt through the blood of the lamb, which is a symbol of how we are redeemed from among the nations/gentiles (from this world) through Jesus’ sacrifice.

Revelation 5:9 (KJV) …for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

  • In Exodus 2, Moses was the child of a Hebrew woman, but became the son of an Egyptian woman, by the river. This symbolizes how Jesus was the son of a heavenly being (Hebrew), but became the son of an earthly woman (Gentile, Egyptian), conceived by the Holy Spirit (the river).
  • In Genesis 37, Joseph went to his brothers, they stripped him of his coat, they threw him into a pit, and after he rose from the pit, they sold him to the Egyptians, where he was in the house of the Egyptian. This symbolizes how Jesus went to His Jewish brothers, but they stripped Him of his body, threw Him to the underworld for three days, and after His resurrection, the Jews gave Jesus up to be brought to the Gentiles (Egyptians) instead.
